We leave San Diego and drive down together, about eight to nine hours through some of the best scenery in Baja. Welcome dinner when we arrive.

Transportation, lodging, boats, captains, permits, fish processing and the details in between are brought together for you. Your job is to show up in San Diego and enjoy the experience.
Day by day

From the drive into Baja to the ride home with your fish packed, here is the current shape of a Rodfather trip.
Day 2
First full day on the water
Five pangas, four anglers each, all of us out at the same time. Your captain handles the water while the entire group shares the experience.
Day 3
Another day of world-class fishing
Second full day on the water. That night, everybody comes together for the awards banquet, including biggest fish and captain's choice.
Day 4
Your fish packed. Then home.
Fish processing, the border crossing and the drive home. You return to San Diego with your catch packed and the trip taken care of from beginning to end.

The boats
Five pangas. Four anglers each. Captains I have known for years.
These are not strangers I found online. Over the years the captains, the hotel and the fish processors down there became friends of mine.
That is the entire reason this business exists. I brought them together and asked whether we could do this properly, and they were all in.
Last trip we had twenty people across five boats, all on the water at once. It was something to see.

The Sea of Cortez holds some of the best fishing on earth, and unlike most places it does not really have an off season. Pick the time your people can actually get away, and the fishing will be there.
Never picked up a rod before?
You are going to have a very good couple of days. Plenty of people arrive having never fished. The captains will look after you.
Between the fishing
There is more down there than the water.
And the hours after dinner when somebody tells the same story for the fourth time and it is still funny.
